Study of Influencing Social Factors on Cultural-Social Participation among Secondary School Teachers in Mashhad

Abstract

We studied the rate of cultural-social participation of Mashhad’s teachers through survey method (were distributed 220 questioners among people) and cluster sampling. In theoretical framework used Parsons’s theory of social action, Durkheim’s social integration and theories of Huntington, Lerner, Lipset, Inglehart and Weiner. Findings indicate that the rate of cultural-social participation (ranging from1-5) is 3.46. Also, results of testing hypotheses based on multiple regression analysis indicate that variables of rationalism, social integration, access to media, achievement, religiosity and education have direct and meaningful relationship with cultural-social participation but based on path analysis, variables of affectivity and collectivity have reverse relationship with cultural-social participation.
