Abstract
Story is a common language of humans for expressing allusion and meanings, and transferring moral and spiritual values among generations. Religion has a rich share in Iranian stories. The storytellers of religious stories teach many concepts of Islam religious to the children and adolescents of this country, boost their faith, and increase high values of humanity and good traits in them. The question is, what is the appropriate text for telling stories about religious tales , and how should revising stories to be? This research use descriptive-analytical method. religious tales for storytelling definitely require rewriting in a particular way; finding an appropriate story that fit the spirit and personality of the storyteller and the audience, planning and preparing the narrative text and turning it into a dramatic case. revising texts with the ability to perform, must regard the principle of trustworthiness in the content of religious stories, committing to the consolidation of important principles: the principles of writing stories and the principles of the profession of storytelling. This research offers general strategies of revising religious stories for storytelling to the readers, that not only can be used by storytellers, but also teachers and storytelling enthusiast can take advantage of it.
