Examining the Advantages and Disadvantages of Public In-Service Courses Held in Education from the Viewpoints of the Elementary School Teachers in Bonab City

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of in-service education in the perspective of primary school teachers in Bonab. The method used in this study was a descriptive survey The target population of this study was primary school teachers with over 20 years teaching experience in Bonab. In order to investigate the variables, a researcher-made questionnaire was distributed between two study groups of teachers in Bonab city, East Azarbaijan province for general and specialized in-service courses. The reliability of the results, while ensuring the content validity of the checklist, was estimated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.91 and analyzed by means of means and t-test. The findings of this study showed that in-service training courses are focused on enhancing the teacher's scientific and intellectual ability, enriching communication skills with students, and the impact of the course on enhancing skills and using educational technologies. There is a significant difference. Also, the effect of these courses on the components of parenting skills, student problem solving, and teacher professional skills was not significantly different.
